At the start of creation, God created man to be in relationship to Him. However, man chose to rebel and sin against God. Being the God of justice, God required atonement for man's sin which could only be made by death man and eternal separation from God. However, God, being full of mercy, provided a substitute for the consequences of our sin. He sent Jesus Christ.
Born of a virgin and both fully God and fully man, Jesus paid the penalty of our sin. He lived a perfect and sinless life only to be wrongfully accused and innocently crucified. He died on a cross, rose from the dead three days later, and ascended into Heaven after appearing to more than 500 witnesses proving His power over life and death.
Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ died on behalf of their sins will be saved from their eternal separation from God. By believing in Jesus Christ, you begin a life-long journey of a new and personal relationship with God.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Jesus will return in the clouds to gather His church at the "rapture". He will then bodily and visibly return to earth at the end of the seven years of tribulation to establish His kingdom here on the earth for a thousand years.
